* Currently, drug makers could make up to 2.5 billion doses of pandemic vaccines in one year, meaning it would take four years to meet global demand, Oliver Wyman found. In a best-case scenario, they could make 7.7 billion doses in 1.5 years.

I find this quite humorous. So… 2.5 billion in one year. What if — and this is egregiously excessive — 1 billion were killed in one year? If people are dying because they were unable to receive a vaccination, global demand will eventually be met once enough people die.
It’s a strange dichotomy, and actually is pretty comical. And then the 7.7 million count, how does that derive from a timeframe of merely 1.5 years?

I’ve been aware of my propensity at making mistakes for several years now. I have a rather uncanny ability to make a mistake, quickly learn from it, and then adapt to get it right the second time.
This applies to any facet of my life, whether it’s ordering food at a restaurant, having a conversation with someone, performing a task at work, or even as important as a relationship with my girlfriend.
While I give myself some credit for figuring things out once the mistake has been made, I still wonder what it would be like if I could accomplish something without having the initial fuckup.
Or, maybe everyone is exactly like this and I’m struggling with this unnecessarily — just like everything else.
Pretty funny…. not really.
PS I still miss you Laura!

Laura broke up with me two weeks ago. I still don’t believe it, but, it’s clearly true. I never envisioned it happening, and it’s been a pretty awful couple of weeks.
It will definitely be an interesting next few months, I’m not really looking forward to much of anything these days. I’ll have a week off after July 4, not sure what I’m doing there but a long solo road trip seems to be in order.
I miss you, Laura.

I don’t watch TV much, unless I’m looking for a particular sporting event, or unless it’s late at night and Laura’s over.
But this morning I decided to flip on the TV while I look for some online poker to play, and I run across this Planet Green channel.
Sounds like a great idea, right? Round-the-clock programming on how to “be more green” as everyone says these days, how bad could that be.
Well, it’s clearly marketed at people with money. Lots of money. Apparently being green means you’ve got to have lots of it in your bank account, as every show participant treats the concept of tree-hugging as if it were a status symbol.
Hey, instead of going to the Coach store to buy a purse, let’s find ways to make our house more “eco-friendly”! Upper Manhattan house that looks like it probably is worth over a million dollars.
Let’s try and reduce our GLOBAL ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT from 70 acres to 49 acres! Woooooo! This was the goal of a show titled Wa$ted which I haven’t quite figured out the whole concept, but that pretty much summed it up.
Now obviously, I’m not against doing things to help the environment, but I don’t think this is the answer. Tom Green disagrees, as he hosts Go for the Green, a game show on Planet Green. My on-screen description of this show labels it as “Educational, Outdoors”… huh?
I don’t think I even need to say any more, this is just terrible.
