This Xbox Live Arcade game is quite great. It’s all about batter vs. pitcher. A true test of wits and hand-eye coordination.
And it has real players.
Each team has four players, each of which take turn pitching an inning. That means Prince Fielder gets to toss at least one inning of a typical three-inning game — unless you bat him cleanup, er, last.
Four pitch types are brilliant. Eephus, bounce, curve and fastball.
Bottom line, it’s a fantastically simple yet great game.

Sunday’s ballgame was bad, but it was inevitable. The Brewers relying on Suppan was just asking way too much. It was really enjoyable, however, and obviously something I’ll always remember.
Bob and I shotgunned three beers right before the game, since we didn’t get there until just before the first pitch. Note these were 16-ounce beers, not just 12. Probably a bad idea, but hey, it was fun. Right.
After the game, we decided to make another visit to the casino just nearby the ballpark. And this time instead of poker, we decided to try counting cards at the blackjack tables.
It worked, or we were just really lucky. I netted over $400 in profits, including some lucky craps results. All in all, a fun night.
Today we shot nine holes of golf at Rolling Meadows. I played horrible, but since I was using Bob’s women’s set from 1965, it was excusable.
Tonight we shall be doing some pub crawling, and then I fly out tomorrow. I can’t wait to drive to Midway.

Having a few vacation days to burn, I’ve been in Wisconsin since Friday evening, and will be here through Tuesday. Yep, to see some playoff baseball.
Here’s a tip for anyone who wants to save money on airfare: Don’t fly in to Midway. I knew traffic would be horrible. And it was. It wasn’t worth saving the $150 or whatever I would have spent flying into Milwaukee.
Saturday. Brewers playoff game. Down 2-0 to the Phillies. I can’t wait to share photos. Brewers win 4-1.
Saturday night. Postgame we head over to a casino just a mile away from the ballpark. They have a poker room, and I play poker, and lose about $450 on one hand when I flop a set and a guy with Q3s takes it down. Same guy who likes pitchers who walk 2 batters per inning.
Currently I am back in Fond du Lac with my pal Robert, and we are soon heading back to Miller Park for game 4. I have had a lot of beer in the last two days, I’m not sure I can do more today, but I’m sure I will anyways.
