Not sure how I ran into this, but on Directv channel 79 there is a show late at night called Art Mann Presents.
This past episode consisted of non-stop footage of drunk people at a St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Jackson, Miss.
Easily the funniest TV since FOTC.

Last weekend I decided to take Laura to Vail for a night, so I booked a room at the Evergreen Lodge and a dinner reservation at a restaurant called Kelly Liken.
I had somewhat low expectations, and mainly just wanted to get out of the city for a short stint. It turned out to be a great time. The meal was pretty good, the hotel was average, but not bad. And it had a bar with three full-size pool tables, which we spent a few hours at late Saturday night.
Sunday morning we ate at the Alpenrose — we both ordered schnitzel. Not a bad meal there, either.
Across the way was a small pub where we watched the Euro quarterfinal (Spain-Italy), and that was also pretty fun.
The only unfortunate thing was not finding an alpine slide near Vail. We could have tried Winter Park on the way home, but figured it was probably closed since it was after 5pm.
That’ll be something for another weekend.

This upcoming weekend is Bob’s wedding. I’m flying myself and Adam out Thursday night, where we’ll stay in Milwaukee for two nights and catch a Brewers game on Friday.
Saturday we’ll head to Fond du Lac for the wedding nonsense. Sunday, another Brewers game, and then an evening flight back to Denver.
The only problem with all of this — I won’t see much Euro 2008 this weekend, if any. I’ve been lucky to watch some of the games online at work, but watching top-shelf international soccer on HD from my sofa is truly where it’s at. Sadly, I’ve only been able to catch a couple games while at home.

For some reason, Laura and I thought this might be a good movie. We were both terribly incorrect.
Funny Games was an excellent departure from the typical horror/thriller/whatever genre it is. The Strangers looked like another film to fall into that category.
What we got was ninety minutes of boring cinematography, a predictable musical score, and the story wasn’t even that good, either. I found myself rooting for the main characters to get killed so I could get out of the theater.
Our next cinematic adventure will take us to see something at the Mayan.
