Having seen the latest Indiana Jones movie last weekend, I have had a couple of dreams (nightmares?) about nuclear explosions. Fucking great!
Example — I’m at a Brewers-Rockies playoff game and all of the sudden WHOOOOOSH! Nuked!

Indiana Jones and Crystal Skull, or whatever it’s called — I was convinced it was a satire of the “conspiracy” genre of movies. A mockery of the X-Files. In that aspect, IJ4 is likable.
But assuming that’s not what Lucasfilm, Ltd. intended, then the film is a colossal joke. I guess I knew that going in, but I honestly had no idea I would be seeing flying saucers and Henry Jones Jr. in the same shot.
Thankfully, my moviegoing weekend was salvaged when I watched Buffalo 66 last night. Vincent Gallo is a talented man. Clearly influenced by several earlier directors (I love the bus ride from the jail) but done with great skill. This falls into the category of why-have-I-waited-ten-years-to-see-it.
Everyone was telling me how great this movie was. I caught it the other day, and while it wasn’t bad, it needed much more cool beat-up-the-bad-guys stuff. I think there was one scene where I really felt excited to be in the theater — not a good ratio for a Marvel flick.
But oh wait, I’m told that the goal of this movie was to set up sequels which will contain more action!
Yawn.
Last month I finally broke free from the ties of having a roommate, and am renting my own place. It’s nice. And I’m back in Broomfield!
The move was only about a mile, and it’s all very same up in this neck of suburbia, but I can at least comfortably walk to the Broomfield library now.
Now that I’m mostly settled into my new place, I’m going to set a goal of posting here once a week. I’m personally disappointed, as I have hardly posted over the last year, which has been one of the more notable span of 12 months of my life. So, I’m going to post more. No excuses.
