torpedo boyz

Wow, talk about sporadic posting here over the last month or so. The only excuse I have is I was on vacation for five days last week.

Anyways, here’s some tasty new music I ran across a few weeks ago. At first, it really didn’t do much for me. But every time it comes up on my random playlist.

It’s the Torpedo Boyz. I had no idea what these guys were all about when I picked this album up, but it’s fantastic.

Funky beats galore, it’s reminiscent of Ween mixed in with 2 Live Jews, but the beats really are solid. OK, maybe the 2 Live Jews reference is a stretch, but a couple songs really feel like I’m listening to As Kosher As They Wanna Be.

Anyways, check out Au jour et a l’heure-ogen. This seems like one of the more straightforward/non-goofy songs, but then again, I don’t know French real well.

The album I’ve got is Headache Music. Definitely highly recommended.

another cute little british band

I had never heard of Bearsuit until yesterday, but it’s hard to pass up an album titled Team Ping Pong, which they released in October 2005.

I really like this album. I can’t even pick a favorite song, but here’s one that I like:

sounds narcotic

I haven’t heard any new Dub Narcotic Sound System in several years. Today I got a hold of their album from last year, and it’s not bad. Actually, it’s rather good.

HEY LET’S TURN THIS INTO AN MP3 BLOG, SHALL WE?!?!
